Reminders for week of November 12

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLyUnZp-1Hc• Passion Project is due December 2nd. Students have a rubric to refer to regarding criteria for the project.
• Science project - model - due November 25th. See below for more details.

• Spelling test - /ç/ on Friday
• A one-page math assignment is due on Friday

For our final project for Sciences Naturelles you will design a model of a body system (respiratory, circulatory, digestive, skeletal, nervous, excretory). The model must imitate how the system works.

In addition to making the system model, you will draw out or print-out and label a diagram of the body system that you chose. See Madame if you need help with this.

Do you like to write, or would you prefer to talk? You will write a one-paragraph description or film/record yourself explaining how the model works.

Students have age-appropriate readings in their Sciences Naturelles dutoangs that explain the systems well. Students are encouraged to re-read these readings and to use the information from these readings in their paragraphs.

Here's a checklist for the project:
·       My model shows how the body system works (4 marks)
·       I handed in a drawing of the system, and I labeled it. I also included a list of material necessary for building the model.   (4 marks)
·       I described (either in 1 paragraph or through me filmed) how my model works and how it ressembles the human system.    (4 marks)
·       My name is somewhere on the project.

5:45 Families visit classrooms to explore a variety of literacy activities.
6:45 Closing remarks in the gym and door prizes
7:00 Popsicles to-go!

Families will leave with some reading and writing tools along with anything they’ve explored during the sessions and helpful tip for reading at home.

If you are interested in attending our literacy evening on Thursday, November 14th, please fill out the information below and return it to the school by Thursday, November 7th.

If you want to help…

The door prize component of the evening is always very fun for the children. We have gathered a few door prizes, but could sure use any donations!! It doesn’t have to be related to Literacy. It could be a toy, puzzle, kite or anything that you think a child would like. If you are able to donate any new items for a door prize or know of someone who runs a business and can donate something, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible! We appreciate in advance your support of this great evening!!!

Sincerely,
Belmont Literacy Committee
